Segal Family foundation, as a famous based charity, has
injected you use US$8m (sh20bn) to enhance health issues in sub Saharan Africa,
Uganda is being the focal beneficiary.
Speaking throughout the Segal Family 2nd Annual Health
Network dinner at Fairway Hotel in Kampala, Andy Bryant, the chief director
asserted their objective is usually to move beyond clinics and hospitals.
“We desire to alter
the perspective of the most popular person towards medical care, to empower

in society, ”said Bryant.
He added that a lot of epidemics in society are preventable
but because people lack enough knowledge about them they've got turned into
serious and recurrent aliments claiming several lives.
Bryant added that the funding would be to go towards youth
friendly interventions, agriculture to cut back malnutrition and dissemination programs
sent to community health education in over six countries in sub Saharan Africa.
These countries include Uganda, Liberia, Malawi, Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya and
Tanzania.
He noted the implementation of the programs is done by local
civil society organizations that share similar objectives and in Uganda 30
partners have already been selected operating in mainly the eastern and western
regions of the us.
While presiding over the dinner, the Minister of Health ,
Rukana Rugunda commended Segal’s contribution saying this will greatly assist
to supplement Government efforts to enhance health care.
“Government has
come up with a number of interventions for medical specially in rural
communities and with such initiatives, the aim of quality health care would
have been a dream come true, ”said
Rugunda.
Rugunda also noted who's quite absurd that
particular simple diseases like malaria which can be treatable plus much more
so preventable are still ranking high one of many killer diseases in Ugandaa.
