Utah's federally-run online health care insurance marketplace opens Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY - Utah's federally-run online insurance marketplace went live Tuesday as users across the country reported glitches with the website and wait times on help hotlines.

Federal officials say they're attempting to address the hiccups as fast as possible.

The net marketplaces, a hallmark of President Barack Obama's health law, allow visitors to compare plans and join coverage.

Under the medical overhaul, most Americans will be asked to have medical insurance next season.

Utah health advocates say it's challenging to predict how many men and women will join while using the exchange, but it's likely men and women begin comparison shopping on day 1.

The net marketplace are available at http://www.healthcare.gov.
